Café 27 – Children, Adolescents and Families Empowered
Café 27 is a safe and welcoming space for children and youth ages 12 to 17 to go after school to participate in activities that are important to them as part of their recovery and treatment plan. Our location was designed to meet the needs and expectations of youth. We have free wi-fi, up-to-date tablet and laptop computers, and space dedicated to learning, treatment, relaxation, social interaction, and life skills training.
We offer a menu of activities for youth to pick and choose from every Tuesday through Thursday from 2:30 – 6:00pm. We provide healthy meals and transportation for youth to get home. We invite parents to come visit us and learn more on site!
Hablamos español. Our providers are bilingual, and we offer services and treatment in English and Spanish.
Educational Institutions can now refer children & young adults (ages 2 – 21yr) for FREE behavioral health services.

The Café 27 open concept layout is inviting and comfortable. Café 27 has the latest in technology with free WiFi, charging stations for personal devices, and locker space to store personal items. We provide Disney+ streaming for entertainment. Café 27 provides seamless access to individual treatment and providers as well as a dedicated room for group sessions.

Skill Building, Therapeutic Art Activities, Cooking Sessions and More.
Our participants can take advantage of our game room, a social space for unstructured activities with board games and Disney+ streaming. They can meet virtually with a Grand Canyon University (GCU) tutor or study solo in our learning lounge, using one of our computers or their own. They can participate in cooking sessions or skills training in our home environment with state-of-the-art kitchen and laundry. They can dive into our art center and related therapeutic activities.
Group, Individual Counseling and Personalized Treatment Planning.
We treat trauma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, anxiety, school and peer problems, grief and loss issues, substance use and more.
Each child or youth’s needs are different. Completing an initial intake assessment with one of our behavioral health providers will help map a path to healing and mental well-being. We also assess for psychiatric care needs and can provide complete psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
We provide group counseling sessions for mental health as well as intensive outpatient treatment for substance use. Team meetings, Individual and family sessions may be part of the treatment plan. Our medication management and psychiatric care can include Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), and case management services. In addition, we offer primary care services for health and wellness checkups in the same building.

I represent a school and would like to refer students for FREE behavioral health services, How do I get started and what are the referral requirements?
The Children’s Behavioral Health Services Fund (CBHSF), in Senate Bill 1523, provides funding for behavioral health services for children who are uninsured or underinsured when behavioral health services are referred through an educational institution. Schools that meet the requirement are able to refer students for behavioral health services and services can be provided on or off school campuses.

What if I need help with transportation?
We can help! We will work with your insurance company on setting up transportation to and from services.
What if I don’t have insurance?
We offer a sliding fee scale and our eligibility specialists are here to help ensure every child gets the assistance they need.
How are you offering services during COVID-19?
As we all navigate through COVID-19, Café 27 delivers behavioral health services in person as well as through an interactive, virtual, telehealth format as an option for those not comfortable in person yet. Youth engage with peers in groups facilitated by a licensed therapist.
Are your services or facility available in the summer?
Yes! We remain open during regular hours through the summer school break and our learning center is a great resource to ready students for the upcoming school session. We are partnering with Grand Canyon University to provide tutoring services year round.
