Frequently Asked Questions

Why use virtual appointments?
  • We can provide uninterrupted access to high-quality medical and counseling care.
  • We reduce the number of people at our clinics, creating a safer environment for our providers, employees, and patients who require in-person treatment.
  • We support guidelines for social distancing.
What about an existing appointment?

If you already have an appointment, your provider will suggest whether a telehealth or in-person visit is the best option. If a telehealth visit is best, our scheduling team will call you to provide all of the information you need.

What platform is used for telehealth?

We are using phone and video conference platforms to connect patients with our caring professionals. The video conferencing platforms we utilize are Cisco WebEx and OTTO.

For intake assessments and individual appointments, Terros Health staff will call the number we have on file for you. Please note that this number may not register as “Terros Health” and can appear to be coming from a blocked number. Group sessions are held entirely through Cisco Webex as this allows us to maintain the privacy of therapeutic settings while providing telehealth services.

How can I access Cisco WebEx or OTTO?

Cisco WebEx is available through a computer desktop internet connection or can be downloaded as an app onto a smartphone. If your smartphone is an Android device, you can download this in the Google Play Store or Amazon’s Appstore. If your smartphone or mobile device is an Apple product (iPhones, iPod Touch devices, and iPads), you can download this as an app through the App Store on your device.

Once you download the Cisco Webex app on your smartphone, please make sure to open the app and complete the prompted questions. By fully registering in the app, when it is time for your services you can simply open your emailed Webex invite, hit join, and there will be no need to enter passwords.

For instructions on how to start your telehealth appointment using WebEx, please review the WebEx Guide.

For instructions on how to start your telehealth appointment using OTTO, please review the patient quick start guide.

How will I know what to do to meet with my provider at the time of my appointment?

For intakes and individual appointments, if you are meeting by phone, your provider will call you at the phone number you provided when you set up the appointment. They will call you at the appointment time scheduled, so be sure to accept the call you are receiving at that time in order to keep your appointment.

For group services you will receive an email invite for the group. If you are appropriately registered with the Cisco Webex application on your smartphone, then all you will have to do is open the email invite and hit “join.” This process is the same for individual sessions held over Webex.

What if I don’t have a phone or internet access at the time of my appointment?

We are here to serve every patient regardless of their circumstances. In person appointments are available. If you are concerned about using technology for your appointment, we can schedule you for an in-person appointment at the health center location closest to you. All patients entering our health centers can expect a simple screening process by staff at the entrance of the building.

We are working with referral sources and Terros Health care management teams to provide resources for individuals without access to phones or with limited data plans. For patients who need to come into the clinic due to technology concerns, we can offer a specific telehealth room for the patient to complete their session on the site, still using telehealth services. This helps to prioritize health and safety for both patients and Terros Health employees.
