Frequently Asked Questions
I'm expecting a baby. Do I need to see a pediatrician before I deliver?
You don’t have to, but you may prefer to. If you would like to meet with our staff prior to delivery, just call us to work out a time to come by for a chat. If that doesn’t work for you, it may be possible to arrange another time.
If you choose one of our providers, just give their name to the registration staff at the hospital when you go in to deliver or when you pre-register. They will contact us as soon as the baby is born!
What are your pediatric care hours?
We’re open Monday through Friday from 8am- 6pm. Ordinarily, the last appointments of the day begin at 6:00pm. Please call in the morning if you would like a same-day sick visit. When contacting us, please provide any concerns you have so that we may triage the appointment appropriately.
We’re not open New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Do you have separate waiting rooms for sick and well children?
Yes! We’re proud to offer separate and very spacious waiting areas. Our facility is cleaned daily.
What's the best way to schedule an appointment with your health center?
It’s recommended to call during business hours, Monday- Friday | 8am-6pm. For new patients, call: 602-685-6000 to schedule an appointment. You can also contact our 27th Avenue Health Center directly at: 602-797-7000.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we’re accepting new patients.
Why does my child need to receive vaccinations?
Choosing to vaccinate your child is one of the best choices you’ll make to protect their health and well-being from an early age. In most cases, many immunizations are necessary before your child is permitted to start school. At Terros Health, we want to be partners in your child’s health and we’re happy to discuss any concerns you may have.
How do you handle after hour calls?
Calls received after normal business hours will be forwarded to our on-call nurse advice line. Please limit these calls to emergencies or urgent questions that you feel cannot wait until the following day. If your child is experiencing a medical emergency it’s best to go to the local hospital or call 911 immediately.
Do you help with camp forms, school forms, or shot records?
We’ll gladly complete these forms for you. In order to do this, your child should have had a well-child exam within the past 12 months. Otherwise, you should schedule a new visit. There is no charge for completing these forms, but please allow us 48 hours.
Which insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most major insurance plans, as well as Medicaid (AHCCCS) and Medicare.
Because the insurance plans we accept may change, we ask that you contact our Patient Access Center at: 602-685-6000 to determine if your plan is qualified under our contract with that company.
