Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at Maverick Living?
Located in two modest apartment buildings, Maverick Living is a male-only, 28-bed program for which applicants must be 30 days clean and sober to move in. Applicants’ sobriety status is verified by interview, references and sponsors, and a drug screen.
How much does Maverick Living cost?

Individuals pay $250 to move in, and $125/week to live in dorm-style shared living space with up to three other residents. Residents are randomly drug tested, are assisted in locating gainful employment and provided with case management.

What’s expected of me as a resident?

We require that all our residents are engaged with a 12 Step recovery program and actively working with a Sponsor or sponsoring other men. Prior to move-in, all residents must pass a drug-screen and be assessed by Terros Health staff.

There are three phases residents must pass through to graduate to independent living outside of the facility. In Phase I, individuals have a curfew of 5pm (unless their job schedule requires a pass) with onsite meetings required. Phase II includes a curfew of 10pm, and 12pm on Friday/Saturday, with outside meetings permitted. Phase III allows 48 hour passes before requiring a visual of the resident by staff or senior resident.

What are other residents and alumni of Maverick Living like?

Residents stay with Maverick Living because it is a stable environment, and it has its own self-perpetuating force; our alumni return as sponsors, attend meetings, and share the philosophy that “helping others helps oneself.”
Individuals sometime return to Maverick Living to be in a supportive home environment in order to prevent a relapse.

Do you accept individuals involved with justice, either with a sexual offense or other criminal charge or those currently on probation?

We do not discriminate based on your background or possible involvement with the justice community. We have a working relationship with the probation officer community and can help support you in meeting related requirements.
